This week, our campus was infused with the spirit of Ramadan as four dynamic student associations—Student Council, Student Federation, EM’Iratis, and EM’Green_Horizon—came together to host a truly memorable Iftar event. This gathering was not just a meal; it was a celebration of community, diversity, and shared values.
A Feast of Togetherness
The event was a delightful blend of tradition and camaraderie. Students from various backgrounds collaborated to prepare a sumptuous Iftar meal, showcasing an impressive array of dishes that highlighted our cultural diversity. The menu included:
- Dates and soups to start the meal
- Savory main courses catering to all tastes and dietary preferences
This collective effort in the kitchen fostered a sense of teamwork and joy, creating an atmosphere filled with laughter and connection.
Breaking Fast in Unison
As the sun dipped below the horizon, attendees broke their fast together, embodying the core values of compassion and gratitude that define Ramadan. The evening unfolded with heartfelt conversations, prayers, and reflections on the significance of this holy month. Both fasting and non-fasting students participated, embracing the opportunity to learn about each other’s traditions and strengthen their bonds.
A Message of Unity
Ines Taleb from EM’Iratis beautifully articulated the essence of the event: “This Iftar was not just about breaking fast; it was about building connections and sharing the spirit of giving.” This sentiment resonated throughout the evening, reminding everyone of the importance of unity during Ramadan.
A Heartfelt Conclusion
As the event drew to a close, participants left with smiles, full hearts, and a renewed appreciation for the power of community. It was a poignant reminder that Ramadan is not only a time for spiritual reflection but also for fostering inclusivity and understanding on campus.
