This week, the campus came alive with the spirit of Ramadan as four student associations—Student Council, Student Federation, EM’Iratis, and EM’Green_Horizon—joined forces to host a memorable Iftar event. The gathering brought together students of diverse backgrounds to break their fast, share a meal, and celebrate the holy month with a sense of community.
The event was a vibrant mix of tradition and togetherness. Students worked collaboratively to prepare the Iftar meal, featuring an array of dishes that reflected cultural diversity. From dates and soups to savoury main courses, the menu catered to all tastes and dietary preferences. The act of cooking together fostered camaraderie among participants, creating an atmosphere filled with laughter and teamwork.
As the sun set, attendees broke their fast in unison, embodying the values of compassion and gratitude that define Ramadan. The evening continued with heartfelt conversations, prayers, and reflections on the significance of the holy month. Both fasting and non-fasting students participated, embracing the opportunity to learn about each other’s traditions and strengthen bonds.
The organizers emphasized the importance of unity during Ramadan. “This Iftar was not just about breaking fast; it was about building connections and sharing the spirit of giving,” said Ines Taleb from EM’Iratis.
The event concluded with smiles, full hearts, and a renewed appreciation for the power of community. It was a beautiful reminder that Ramadan is not only a time for spiritual reflection but also for fostering inclusivity and understanding on campus.
