As the 2023 academic year sets in motion, EM Normandie warmly embraces 6,500 students, among them, over 2,000 newcomers. The current scholastic term once again falls under the “School for Good” motif, introducing three noteworthy innovations: a dedicated Business Simulation, a bespoke online hub for back-to-school activities, and a particularly striking addition, an integration weekend (WEI) aimed at drawing a conclusion to this noteworthy integration phase and etching it into memory.

In the process of transitioning from being a Business School to adopting the ethos of the “School for Good,” EM Normandie remains resolute in its endeavor to reshape its operational framework. By aligning with the principles of the “School for Good,” the institution strives to usher in positive societal and ecological change by 2030. This transformation involves the active engagement of students, alumni, faculty, and partners. As a facet of this effort, the institution has made a conscious choice to weave in matters of social and environmental import into the fabric of students’ education right from the outset. One such example is the Sustainability course, where students are immersed in the core of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) subjects. The course spotlights solutions that the upcoming generation of professionals and entrepreneurs will need to instill in their organizations. By the culmination of their program, each student will have acquired skills such as “Understanding ethical and societal challenges linked to Sustainable Development. Grasping the complexities of sustainability and executing tasks in a resourceful and responsible manner, advocating for sustainability.”

Elian Pilvin, the Managing Director of EM Normandie, articulates,

“From the 31st of August to the 2nd of September, fresh post-baccalaureate scholars from the Grande Ecole Programme, the Bachelor in International Management, and the BBA, who are novices across the three national campuses (Caen, Le Havre, and Paris), will join forces in groups to partake in a Business Simulation centered on four CSR themes: Long-range mobility, Day-to-day mobility, Consumption/Rapid fashion, and Nutrition.

Under the mentorship of 75 enthusiastic EM Normandie alumni and guided by 50 guest speakers, these clusters, comprising approximately 15 students each, will construct and present their projects in the form of pitches to a panel of industry experts. The primary aim is to familiarize students with the nuances of sustainable development challenges, to encourage deliberation on pragmatic concerns intertwined with their daily routines and local communities, and to introduce them to the fundamentals of project initiation, particularly within the context of associations. The three-day event will culminate with celebratory evenings on each campus.

For other students (PGE, BBA, Bachelor of International Management, MS or MSc, or international students), the commencement of the new academic season will be staggered over the following weeks, adopting a seminar-style approach. This approach includes workshops focusing on commitment, interculturality, skill acquisition, and the pursuit of internships.

A significant milestone: in September 2023, EM Normandie will embrace its inaugural group of Vietnamese scholars at its Le Havre campus, as part of its partnership with UTC Hanoi. These 14 students will embark on their third year of a Bachelor’s program.

At the global campuses in Dubai, Dublin, and Oxford, students will be welcomed by local teams and swiftly immersed in the dynamics of their host country through workshops designed to foster an understanding of appropriate norms, team synergy, engagement with prominent companies, and festive gatherings.

A dedicated back-to-school website, developed by and for students, emerges as a fresh repository for all necessary practical information, categorized by campus. Available online since June and updated in real-time, https://rentree.em-normandie.com/ proves invaluable for young individuals and their parents seeking information. It covers:

  • Commencement dates for the academic term
  • Guidance on completing the registration form
  • Back-to-school schedule
  • Guidance on finding accommodation
  • Insights on funding one’s education
  • Exploration of apprenticeship opportunities
  • Insights into campus life
  • And a plethora of additional resources!

The revival of the WEI is a moment of celebration. After a hiatus of several years, the Senior Administration of EM Normandie has decided to reinstate this festive event, marking the culmination of a month-long integration phase, orchestrated by the Student Federation and the Student Offices (BDE) across the French campuses.

From the 22nd to the 24th of September, all the newly enrolled 1st-year candidates from diverse programs will converge in Brittany for a 3-day gathering designed to ease their integration. The aim is to provide them with a platform to foster new connections, establish bonds more effortlessly, and cultivate a sense of unity and affiliation with the EM Normandie community.”
